Matthew 5:16 says:
"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
After the death of our son Charlie in June 2011 we have experienced so many ups and downs.
As I look back and reflect on this past year I can't help but to notice all the blessings we have recieved even as we walked through such dark and painful times.
The thing about God is that His timing is always perfect even if we feel like it isn't in the moment. When we live life and share God's word we are rewarded. We are after all human and when someone experiences a tremendous amount of pain and suffering yet doesn't stray God rewards us. His reward for us was peace and acceptance (and Cannon).
We will never (in this life) be okay with or understand why Charlie had to go so early in his life but, this question and saddness has somewhat turned to a focus. A drive to learn and understand God's word. In this process I have learned that His plan is ultimately the plan and Charlie's life was not an accident like the coroner proclaims.
Charlie's death was a window for so many people to learn about Christ and to understand that His grace is all that we need in this life. The window being us. We have taken this horrible experience and turned it into a way to reach out to people and to let them know that it will be okay and that God does love us more than we can comprehend.
We take every opportunity we have to share God's word and to encourage others to not be afraid of the unknown. Faith is a challenge and when we overcome the fear and hesitance we will be rewarded.
I am looking forward to all the amazing opportunities and people God is placing in our lives on this journey. I pray that we can embrace every moment but remain humbled in our blessings and use them to help people have faith and choose to SEE.
Each step we have taken has not been alone.
Our strength is not our own but rather a house on the foundation of our faith.
Isaiah 40:29-31 says;
"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and
weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
