I never in a million years would have thought we would be blessed with another home ownership opportunity. Let alone one where we got to choose the finishes! We worked with a really small builder here in Wisconsin and let me tell you....we are so happy with how it turned out.
W love feedback and suggestions/ideas if you have any. I have been so busy lately just getting all the boxes unpacked that I just very recently got some stuff hung. The basement on the other hand is a whole other story. There are stacks and piles of art/pictures everywhere.
Down the stairs to the left is the entryway. Up the stairs is the loft and master suite. I haven't decided what to do with the loft area yet. Thinking a home office area? If we do that them we really want something that we can close up like an armoire since it is open and would always be visible. What are your thoughts? The curtains are ones that I made as well and there is a set hanging in the dining area too.
I was beyond excited when we were told we could to the two tone cabinetry in the kitchen at no extra charge! I have seen it done in design magazines and of course on HGTV for many years now. I have always wanted it in our kitchen too! Love the idea of making the island look/feel like a piece of furniture. Now I am on the hunt for 2 bar height white/pearl colored for the island. I really love the pottery barn ones but the price tag is not very appealing so I am on the hunt.
We did finally decide on 2 rugs (Moroccan style) for the main living areas. One each in the couch/tv area and one under the dining room table. Two reasons for this; 1 it is very 'echo-y' because of the wood floors. 2 it will be nice in the winter to have warm areas for the feet. Not to mention it will be much more aesthetically pleasing. Super excited for those to come in!
You can see a glimpse of the curtains in this picture that I made too. I will be sharing a tutorial on how to make these soon so stay tuned!

Looks so great!! You guys are doing a great job!
