A little bit of this, a little bit of that...

I love that this is the first thing I saw when I walked into the living room this morning. Yesterday I got the spring bug! It was a gorgeous day in the mid 60s so little C and I spent the entire day outside. Never mind the piles of laundry that needed to be done, the dusting, or cleaning - we were not going to miss this opportunity to play outside with no jackets! So we busted out the wagon and Cannon had a blast playing and watching me hobble around with one bum foot (I still have stitches in my heel) between the yard and garage pulling out all the outdoor furniture and spring inspired decor.

Today is supposed to be another record high day getting to 64 degrees and last night we sprung forward for day light savings time so we get an extra hour of daylight! This excites me so much because I can feel summer is on its way. The smell of the smoker running all day, the sound of Cannon's sweet giggle and shriek while chasing Balou around the backyard climbing in and out of his pool without a care in the world....it's something I have dreamed about since he was born.

Don't get me wrong, I love Winter and the snow but there is just something that is so exciting and refreshing when Spring rolls around each year in the North. I didn't appreciate or embrace it when we lived in Maine so this year I am taking nothing for granted. The sound of birds chirping outside my window literally right now has me giddy.

One of my scores over the Winter was an outdoor swing at my favorite baby consignment stores. These swings go for around $40 retail - I scored the one, which looked like it had literally never been used for $8.50. :) I love finding a good deal. I plan on getting better pictures today than this one since it is a mess. The focus point is all wrong (his foot), the hot spots and shadows are everywhere, you can see part of Sean's hair, and the sun was in the wrong position but...
that smile makes this one of my all time favorite pictures and for that I will be framing and cherishing this one forever. :)

Thank you daddy for hanging the swing after a long day of work, you are truly the best daddy ever!

This morning we did our usual reading but this time Cannon insisted he was going to hold the books. He loves books. He will sit there and listen and just look at the pictures while I read to him occasionally trying to grab the book. Last night he was melting down tired so I pulled out a book and he immediately got silent and listened so intently. This is totally opposite of Charlie....I literally would have follow him around to read to him while he played and probably wasn't even listening to me. He was such a busy little boy exploring everything around him and Cannon is our observer.

Happy Sunday ya'll!
