Easy Camera Strap Tutorial

Well folks, here it is - my first ever blog tutorial! :) I hope you enjoy it and please feel free to leave some feedback or a comment and share with your friends and family.

First things first, you need to measure the width of your camera strap, like so:

 Then double it...

And add 1/2" total for each of the 1/4" seams on each end. So for my strap the total is 3 1/4 inches.

Now measure the length of the strap. (This can vary based on if you want yours to go longer or shorter). My strap is 22" long.

And add 1/2" total for each of the 1/4" seams on each end. So for my strap the total is 22 1/2 inches.

Okay, so now that you have your measurements cut a strip of the fabric your measurements.

Then you need to iron each short end in 1/4 inch to create a clean edge.

Now you will sew a line to hold the seam...

This is what I put my settings at...a stitch length of 2.5 gives the seam extra durability.

Now pin the cut long edges with the right sides together and sew with a 1/4" seam.

This next part can seem a bit tricky but if you follow these steps turning the strap right side out will be simple. First, take one corner of the strap and press in to make a triangle and use a wooden dowel to push through.

While using the dowel to hold the strap steady use your other hand to slide the fabric down like so...

This is what it looks like when you complete those two steps.

Then when you complete those steps your will be able to finish turning it right side out.

And voila! You have a personalized camera strap cover!

I hope you liked my tutorial!
