Frustration doesn't even begin to tell you about my day.

I should have known it was going to be a bad day when I set the house alarm off first thing in the morning on accident.

You see when Sean is away I always arm the alarm at night...its part of my super paranoia that someone is going to break in. So anyway, during this fiasco Charlie is running after me screaming in sheer terror. I finally get to the pad and turn in off and realize hey, the alarm company didn't call. So I checked the pad and oh, imagine that, the error light is on. Yes, the alarm is flashing at me that dreadful code that means 'failure to communicate' which is the same error it did before. Great. Charlie was already in a terrible mood because of the alarm so he was whining (which for him is literally screaming the highest pitch scream that makes your ears ring) all morning. So I decided to wait and call the alarm company while he naps. Mistake #2 of the morning. They tell me there is nothing they can do until they test it. Which means it has to sound for 1 minute straight. Fine, I'll call back - I told the lady. Now mind you I had plans to take Charlie to the zoo today early because it was to be in the mid 90s (it hit 96) and gets too hot in the afternoon. Well, to make a long story short an hour and a half later - after being transferred to a million different people, crying because of my frustration to the lady on the other end of the phone (thank God she was understanding unlike the rest of them) I got everything straightened out. At one point I was so angry with the guy talking down to me as if I was an idiot and telling me "Sorry, but what else do you want me to tell you?" that I broke Charlie's sippy cup in my bare hand. Yes, you read that right....I squeezed it so hard that it crumbled in my hand. I really didn't think I was squeezing it very hard, maybe it was defective...

So after straightening that mess out I was determined to make sure Charlie had fun today. So we headed out to the zoo. We got there and went into the area where you can walk around and see the animals up close. Charlie is really into walking now and actually, for now, likes to hold my hand. :) He loved seeing the duckings up close too as well as all the other fascinating animals and birds in there.

The day was taking a turn, we were having a blast and Charlie was just giggling away at everything. We stopped to eat lunch and headed for the splash park. He just cracks me up in there, and everyone else too. He is becoming a lot more social now too. He was actually interacting with the other kids in there a little.

So here is where I really thought I was going to loose it today. We decided to go to the Great Ape's area next and there were some field trip kids there - no big deal, right? WRONG. These kids were cussing up a storm, the boys were saying completely inappropriate things to the girls they were with and lastly they actually starting spitting at some of the monkeys within the exhibit. *deep breath, 1...2...3...* that was my thoughts at that moment. Luckily a zoo keeper was standing there and told them not to do it. Well, those little snots started mocking her and cussing again. So, instead of saying something to them myself and risking them trying to kill me because kids are crazy now days I went to the main office and told them. Apparently those kids were banned from the zoo for 1 year and this was their first trip back. They will be re banned - hopefully permanently this time. They are from a school for troubled kids....figures.

So we headed home after that and when I laid Charlie down for his afternoon nap I checked on the pool to see how it was. A little backup here...I have been vacuuming it everyday and every morning there is a ton of dirt on the bottom and it looks green. Well, once again it looked green. So I cleaned half of it and ran the pump for a couple of hours and it now looks green again. Not to mention that the water level keeps going down everyday. I cannot figure out if there is a hole in the liner or if it is all just evaporating because its so hot and we haven't had any rain. Which by the way is a freaking joke - seriously, the lack of rain is ridiculous. 1.2 inches for an entire month??? I am sure next we will get flooded and a ton of hurricane's.

Great...this day just keeps getting better and better.

So I called the manufacturer of the filter and turns out there is a common problem with this part within the sand filter cracking and the "dirt" I am seeing in the pool is actually sand. The part isn't bad $30 but changing it out sounds like a pain in the ass! Originally I thought I put the filter on the wrong setting, but no.

UGH sometimes being a military wife sucks. :( The worst part is I haven't even been able to talk to Sean to tell him about everything after the zoo.

At least Charlie put a smile on my face today (minus the screaming - does it EVER go away?!?) I think I just need a good cry, or for my husband to come home. I prefer the latter of the two.

Goodnight bloggers, here's praying for a WAY better day tomorrow. :/

  1. Ugh, don't those days STINK! I'm sorry you had a bad day. There must be something in the air because my Singer pooped out on me and my oldest hit me in the head with a pipe. Yeah, on purpose. lol the screaming goes away and is replaced by even more fun behavior. Get some rest. Better luck tomorrow!! P.S. Lay off the spinach Popeye!
