We have mobility!

Okay, so I know I have slacked the past 10 days, it has been hectic around here! So here goes....

Grandma Jackie is in town and Charlie is having so much fun! There is lots on our agenda for this visit.

Charlie added a little something to that agenda and took his first crawl grandma's first day here! Can you believe it? Less than seven months ago I was giving birth to him and now he's crawling! Its hard to get a shot of him crawling but I will work on it today! He is ALL over the place. It is the cutest thing ever! He crawls and looks at you so surprised then starts cracking up!

We have been many places in the past 10 days...our six month check up, the air show, the zoo, and so much more! At the six month well baby poor baby Charlie got 4 shots! One being the flu shot. In conjunction with is teething and the shots we had a wonderful afternoon.....LOL All and all he did really good but was quite grumpy.

Here is a photo catch up, enjoy!

We got 4 shots at the 6 month well baby. (I did say we because I cried more than he did!)

At the zoo with grandma! Lookin so cool in the safari hat!

Still so in love! =)

Yes, we too paid the $2 for leaves to get the photo with the giraffe.....

Looking adorable sitting on the elephants trunk

Wearing our ear protection at the air show....

Cheezin at the camera! He didn't mind the earphones at all!

Sara and Cash trying to stay cool in the aweful FL heat!

...and this was Charlie after each night grandma was here! Just pooped....

Having sweet dreams...
Hopefully I can get some good photos of Charlie crawling! That's all for now....little man is on the move again and its time to make some more baby food!

Red cheeks and sore gums.

Yesterday and today have been quite an experience. When I last left you I spoke of exciting things planned for Saturday. Well, those things didn't happen. Poor Charlie started teething....bad! So we layed low on Saturday. During his first nap I finished the pumpkin carving.

Around 2pm I decided to venture out to Home Depot to get some fall flowers for the pots in the back. This was Charlie at Home Depot, being a trooper....

Yes, this is a picture of a picture on my phone.
Then we headed home where daddy was already home from work. (Drill weekends are so much fun) So daddy had some quality Charlie time while mommy took a much needed break from the constant whining to pot the new flowers. I have learned that gardening is so calming!

What an exhausting day yesterday was. Who knew that constant whining and clinging could wear a person out! Today was quite the event too. Got up to go to church as usual and went to change Charlie right before leaving and poop had leaked out of his diaper....everywhere! Needless to say it is 10 minutes before we are supposed to leave the house and I am running around like mad trying to clean the mess up and get him dressed. We make it out of the house (somehow) only 5 minutes behind. Hit the road and Char is immediately out, hard core. Get to church and of course the light sleeper my child is he wakes up and fusses through the WHOLE service! ugh...."Lord give me patience" is all I kept thinking to myself. Poor baby doesn't feel good and I drug him out to church. So after apologizing to our pastor we headed home and once again.....you guessed it, he passed out. Unloaded him at home fed him and down he went. Lets just hope he wakes up in a good mood for our guests tonight and the store run later is uneventful and happy!

A day of firsts!

Today was going to be a normal Friday with our normal routine and yesterday Sean reminded me he was off. So we planned a trip to the pumpkin patch to get Char's first pumpkin! We made the journey to a church out by the beaches. This is Charlie on the way there.....already with sleepy eyes. (He didn't get a good nap this morning since he woke himself up with a poop half way though!)

So we get to the pumpkin patch and started the hunt for the perfect pumpkin family to reflect us. Isn't it funny how people do that? After a good hour or so there and Charlie flirting with a little girl (making daddy proud but making the little girls daddy cringe) we purchased our findings and started the photo session! Once again, you can imagine the joy on hubby's face. He was a good sport though and we even got our photo taken, printed and given to us by the church! Here are a few pictures from the patch.

After the pumpkin patch we decided to head to the Oakleaf area to hit up good 'ol Chili's. This was Charlie the minute we hit the highway.....

He always pushes that bottom lip out when he sleeps, the most adorable thing ever! Notice he is in a BIG boy car seat now! (A little back tracking to last week - We had his 6 month check up and he was 21 lbs 8oz and 29 1/2 in long! A big boy.....he now wears 12 - 18 months clothes.) So we are on the highway for about 30 minutes or so and take our exit and our little light sleeper wakes up. So, last time I was at the store I impulse bought a sippy cup and today I filled it with water for our day. This was the first time Char had ever seen a sippy cup and he chewed on the tip for a few minutes and all the sudden figured out what to do and looked right at me with those big melt my heart eyes! Fortunately I actually caught the moment on camera! Too cool...

Okay, so to recap we have had two major firsts so far! The pumpkin patch and the sippy cup. The final first was when we were at Chili's. We sat in a highchair for the first time ever!

Then we head home for a good nap and some pumpkin carving! WE got as far as cutting the top and cleaning them out. Mommy carved her pumpkin but Daddy took a chill on the couch. (He ran 10 miles this morning....I know, hes nuts!)

Then, before we knew it the time had come for dinner and our nightly walk. So Charlie chowed down on some Cheerios and apples and cinnamon oatmeal....his favorite, just like daddy!! Then we were off with Casie and the boys. Charlie just adores those boys and our nightly walks.

Then, even after the walk we had some playtime with daddy and Balou - one of our dogs.

Such a busy day has left us all exhausted! So we ended the night with our favorite time of the day, bath time! Just look at those tired angel eyes....(yes there are foam letters and numbers stuck to him. We found it quite amusing!

And with that we say goodnight blogger land! We have another exciting adventure filled day planned for tomorrow too!

Blog Number One....

I was inspired to start a blog by our friend Sara. Such a wonderful idea to have a journal with pictures and updates on the adventures we experience during Charlie's early years (even though he is 6 months at this time). This is a gift we can give to him. To be able to look back and see what we did with him on an exact day - amazing! Hopefully he will appreciate it.....eventually.

I have no idea what I am doing so if it turns into rambling, I apologize now. =)

During dinner tonight I shared my idea of starting the blog with Sean and of course, as most men would, he looked at me like I was silly. Although after explaining my reasons he then came around and thought it was a great idea too! Then when I was preparing for our regular evening walk with our neighbor friend (who has a baby two weeks younger than Charlie and a two year old), I got a text that she wasn't going to make it.

So....after using my ultra-persuasive sad-face I convinced my wonderful and exhausted husband to come walk with us. (I threw in some 'I'll rub your feet' bribes too and we were off like that!) We got two houses down the street when I stopped and ran back to the house to get our camera. (You can imagine the joy on my husbands face at this point after working all day). Then we headed out on our walk. There is a park in our neighborhood so on the way home we stopped and took some pictures (insert extremely happy face here) and I believe the pictures that follow convinced Sean it was a wonderful idea to start a blog!

Hope you enjoy them as much as we do and we look forward to sharing our family's growth with you all!

First time EVER going down a slide.....

Cheesin' with momma

Aren't you glad you chose to walk with us? :-)
